Refund policy

This Refund policy sets out the return, withdrawal and refund conditions applicable to orders placed on minorthings.com (the "Website") operated by Minor Things ApS ("Minor Things", "we" or "us"). It applies in addition to our Terms and conditions. Information about delivery times, shipping rates and carriers is set out in our Shipping policy.

1. Right of withdrawal (statutory)

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you have a statutory right to withdraw from the purchase within 14 days from the date on which you, or a third party designated by you, take physical possession of the product(s). Where the order consists of several items delivered separately, the period runs from the date on which the last item is received.

To exercise the right of withdrawal you must inform us of your decision before the 14-day period expires, either by email to info@minorthings.com or by using the standard withdrawal form available in our Terms and conditions.

The product(s) must be returned without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the date on which you informed us of the withdrawal. The cost of returning the product(s) under the statutory right of withdrawal is borne by you.

We refund all payments received from you, including the standard delivery cost (excluding any additional cost arising from your choice of a more expensive delivery option), no later than 14 days after the date on which we received your withdrawal notice. We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned product(s) or evidence that the product(s) have been returned, whichever is the earlier. The refund is made using the same means of payment as used for the original transaction.

You are liable only for any diminished value of the product(s) resulting from handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the product(s).

The statutory right of withdrawal does not apply to certain product categories listed in section 22 of the Danish Consumer Contracts Act (Forbrugeraftaleloven), including products made to the consumer's specifications or with a clearly personalised character, sealed products that are not suitable for return for reasons of health protection or hygiene once they have been unsealed, and digital content supplied without a tangible medium where performance has begun with the consumer's prior express consent. None of the standard products currently offered on the Website fall within these categories. Where personalised or made-to-order products are added to the Website in the future, this will be indicated on the relevant product page. Gift cards delivered electronically are also exempt from the right of withdrawal.

2. Extended return policy (30 days)

In addition to the statutory right of withdrawal set out in section 1, we offer an extended right of return of 30 days from the date of delivery. The following conditions apply:

  • The product(s) must be returned new, unused, with the original tags and packaging intact.
  • The cost of return is borne by you, on the same basis as the statutory right of withdrawal.
  • A return must be initiated by contacting info@minorthings.com with your order number; product(s) returned without prior notice may not be accepted.
  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method after the returned product(s) have been received and inspected.

Product(s) returned in a condition that goes beyond what is permitted under section 1 (handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the product(s)) may be subject to a deduction from the refund corresponding to the diminished value.

3. Christmas gifts

Product(s) purchased between 1 November and 24 December may be returned, in accordance with the conditions of section 2, until 31 January of the following year. Please state "Christmas" in your return notice.

4. Bundles and gift sets

Where a product is sold as part of a bundle or gift set at a bundle price, the full bundle should be returned in order to receive a full refund. Where individual items of a bundle are returned, the bundle discount will be recalculated and deducted from the refund.

5. Partial returns

Partial returns are accepted. Please follow the same procedure as for a full return and indicate clearly which product(s) are being returned.

6. Defects, damage and incorrect deliveries

Please inspect your order on receipt and contact info@minorthings.com without undue delay if any product is defective, damaged in transit or if you receive the wrong item. Include your order number, a short description of the issue and photographs of the product(s) where relevant, so that we can assess the case and arrange a remedy.

Your purchase is covered by the Danish Sale of Goods Act (Købeloven), which provides for a 24-month right to complain (reklamationsret). Where a product has a defect that was present at the time of delivery, you are entitled to have the product repaired, replaced, the price reduced or the contract rescinded, depending on the circumstances. Reasonable return shipping costs in such cases are borne by us. The right to complain does not cover defects caused by ordinary wear and tear, misuse or lack of care.

7. Exchanges

We do not operate a formal exchange procedure. To obtain a different product, please return the product you wish to exchange under section 1 or section 2 and place a new order for the replacement.

8. Refunds

Once a return has been received and inspected, we will notify you whether the refund has been approved. Approved refunds are processed to the original payment method within ten (10) business days of approval. Depending on your bank or payment provider, additional time may be required for the amount to appear on your account.

If more than fifteen (15) business days have passed since the refund was approved and the amount has not appeared, please contact info@minorthings.com.

9. Contact

For questions regarding returns or refunds, please contact info@minorthings.com.
